Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Lentando ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

2. What data exists

Lentando is local-first. You can use it without an account or with an account for optional cloud sync.

A) No-account mode (local-only)

All data (events, settings, to-dos, badges, theme) is stored in your browser's local storage. We do not store any of it in our cloud database.

B) Account data (if you sign in)

• Firebase Authentication stores your sign-in credentials (Google profile info or email/password) and assigns a unique user ID (UID).
• Your app data (events, settings, to-dos, badges, sync metadata) is synced to Cloud Firestore under your UID for backup and multi-device use.

C) Technical data

Firebase may process technical data (IP address, device/browser info, timestamps) to operate and secure its services. We do not intentionally run dedicated advertising trackers or analytics in Lentando.

3. How we use data

We use your information to:

• Provide local app functionality (no account required).
• Provide optional sign-in, cloud backup, and cross-device sync.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share data

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:

• With Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) to operate the App.
• If required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.

If you use Google sign-in, your authentication data is processed by Google/Firebase to authenticate you and operate sign-in.

5. Your choices and controls

• Use without account: Core features work with no sign-in; data stays on your device.
• Clear all data: In-app control clears local data and, if signed in, attempts to clear synced cloud data (this may require being online or syncing again later).
• Delete account: In-app flow deletes your account and associated cloud data. See Delete Your Account for step-by-step instructions and an email option if you no longer have access to the app.
• Disconnect Google: Remove access via Google Account settings.

6. Data storage and retention

• Local-only mode: Data stays on your device until you clear it or remove browser data.
• Signed-in mode: Cloud data is stored in Firebase under your UID until you delete your account.
• We may retain limited records where required for legal or compliance obligations.

7. Regional privacy rights

EU/UK users: We process data under contractual necessity (providing the App), legitimate interests (security, stability), and consent where required. You have the right to access, correct, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California users (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Health disclaimer

Lentando is a self-tracking tool, not a medical device or substitute for professional medical, mental health, or addiction treatment advice.

10. Security

We use reasonable safeguards (including Firebase security rules) to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure.

11. International transfers

Data may be processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates. EU/UK transfers follow applicable data protection law (e.g., standard contractual clauses).

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will change the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be noted in the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
